The author of this piece of fake news is Kosar, a “Featured Contributor” on the site thepoliticalinsider.com. However, the evidence that the news is based off of comes from Wikileaks, a U.S. online database created by Julian Assange. Kosar’s identity has not been identified. The main content of the post is a discussion with Julian Assange, but what grabs readers attention the most would be the title and conclusion which spell former Secretary of State Hillary clinton out as an ISIS supporting perjurer.

The article relies not on an engineered story, but rather on a gross misinterpretation of Assange’s views. Assange stated that the Wikileaks emails painted a “rich picture” of Hillary Clinton's hawkish tendencies with respect to the Libyan intervention and referenced ISIS as the eventual beneficiary of weapons provided for that intervention yet never actually confirmed that Hillary Clinton directly and knowingly "sold weapons to ISIS."

The website of origin is the dead giveaway in the case of Hillary’s ISIS weapons scandal. Knowing that the website thepoliticalinsider.com is insanely conservatively biased, one could pretty much assume that the news is altered in some way due to Clinton’s political standing. Not to mention the website received a “mixed” review from mediabiasfactcheck.com which is a fairly reputable site when it comes to checking the factuality of a website.

Unfortunately the site has been taken down since the incident so I had to take a screenshot of an archived version of the site.
